Ordrun vs Foodics

Ordrun vs Foodics: an honest comparison

Looking for a Foodics alternative in Egypt, or weighing up the two? Here are the facts side by side: where Foodics is stronger, where Ordrun is different, and the prices each company publishes.

The short version

Foodics is large and established, with tens of thousands of restaurants and a marketplace of delivery-app and accounting integrations. Ordrun is newer and smaller, built in Egypt so a branch keeps trading when the internet drops, at a published price, with a trial you start yourself. Ordrun Lite is a single-till POS you pay for once.

  • Foodics probably fits better if you run a large chain, need delivery-app or accounting integrations, gift cards, or a waiter app and table management.
  • Ordrun probably fits better if you run a multi-branch delivery brand with a call centre, delivery zones and your own drivers, and want a published price: delivery starts with Growth at 2,900 EGP a month.
  • Ordrun Lite probably fits better if you run one café, kiosk or minimarket, don't want a monthly bill, and can't count on your internet.

Where Foodics is stronger

Plainly, so you can decide well:

  • Track record and scale: Foodics says it serves more than 40,000 restaurants and has worked in Egypt since 2020. Ordrun is early and has no comparable record.
  • Integrations: Foodics has an app marketplace, lists delivery-aggregator integration in its Egypt Advanced bundle (ask which apps), and offers Foodics Accounting. Ordrun has no delivery-app or accounting integrations.
  • Front of house: Foodics has table management, a waiter app, self-ordering and pay at table. Ordrun has no table map or waiter app (Ordrun Lite has tables and open tabs).
  • Customers: Foodics has gift cards, and its loyalty and online ordering are built into the POS. Ordrun's loyalty programme and ordering app run beside the till today (see below), and Ordrun has no gift cards.
  • E-receipts: the Foodics marketplace lists e-invoicing apps such as Wafeq and InvoiceQ; its Egypt pricing page doesn't say whether they cover ETA e-receipts, so ask about your case. Ordrun doesn't support ETA e-receipts yet.

Where Ordrun is different

Not better at everything, but different in ways that matter to a lot of Egyptian restaurants:

  • Offline, with the details spelled out: both say the till keeps working without internet, and both connect kitchen screens to the till over the local network. In Ordrun the till sells and prints from the device, kitchen screens keep receiving orders over the branch network, and everything syncs without duplicates when the connection returns; promo codes, delivery and handover wait for it.
  • Call centre and delivery in one system: agents find the customer by phone number and pick the branch and address, the delivery fee comes from zones you draw on a map, and the branch accepts or rejects. The Dispatch app assigns drivers and settles their cash.
  • Your own app, not a marketplace: Ordrun App gives a brand its own ordering app and website with a full loyalty programme inside: points, member tiers with their own discount, vouchers, cashback and SMS campaigns. In the branch, the cashier scans the customer's code on a counter screen next to the till, so branch and app customers share one programme. Today it runs beside the till; built-in integration with Ordrun Cloud is coming soon.
  • Published prices, self-serve trial: sign up and try Ordrun for 30 days with no card and no sales call. With Foodics you fill in a form, a specialist calls with a quote, and hardware is quoted separately.
  • Arabic first: Arabic is the default and English sits alongside. To be fair, Foodics fully supports Arabic too.
  • A pay-once option: Ordrun Lite is a licence you pay for once, from 3,000 EGP. The Foodics Egypt pricing page lists subscriptions only.

Prices side by side

These are the published prices, but it isn't like for like. The Foodics Basic bundle includes inventory, delivery zones, table management and gift cards. Ordrun's Starter covers one branch with the POS and kitchen screen; delivery zones, dispatch and inventory start at Growth (2,900 EGP a month). Foodics quotes a monthly rate billed yearly or quarterly; Ordrun bills by the month. We checked the Foodics Egypt pricing page (foodics.com/foodics-pricing-egypt) on 11 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm with them before you decide.

Just one shop? Look at Ordrun Lite

If a monthly subscription is too much for a single outlet, Ordrun Lite may suit you better. It's a one-till POS that works with no internet at all, with a café mode (tables, open tabs, modifiers, bar tickets) and a market mode (barcodes and scale barcodes). You pay for the licence once, from 3,000 EGP. Yearly support (4,000 EGP) is optional and brings new versions; if it lapses, the app keeps working as it is. It runs on a Windows PC; for Android or iPad, ask us first.

How to start

The trial is free for 30 days with no card, and you can do it all yourself:

  • Sign up and pick a plan with a 30-day trial.
  • Import your menu from an Excel file, or start from scratch.
  • Run the POS on the tablet you already have. You don't need to buy hardware.
  • If you'd like help with setup, moving your data or training, our team is there.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ordrun a good Foodics alternative?

It depends on how you work. For a multi-branch delivery brand with a call centre and drivers that wants a published price and a trial without a sales call, Ordrun is worth trying. If you need delivery-app integration, gift cards, a waiter app, or a vendor with a long record at large chains, Foodics fits better today. Loyalty and your own ordering app come with Ordrun App.

Foodics or Ordrun: which costs less?

Ordrun starts at 1,800 EGP a month for one branch without delivery; Growth, which adds delivery zones, dispatch and inventory, is 2,900 EGP a month. The Foodics Basic bundle in Egypt is listed at EGP 2,849 a month billed yearly, or 3,020 a month billed quarterly (checked 11 October 2026), with hardware quoted separately; Ordrun bills by the month. The bundles don't match feature for feature, so compare on what you'll use. For a single shop, Ordrun Lite is a one-off licence from 3,000 EGP.

Does Ordrun integrate with Talabat and elmenus?

No, Ordrun has no delivery-app integrations today. Till and call-centre orders flow to the kitchen and the driver, but Talabat or elmenus orders have to be keyed into the till by hand. If most of your orders come through those apps, that matters.

Does Ordrun have a loyalty programme?

Yes, as part of Ordrun App: points on every order, member tiers with their own discount, vouchers, automatic cashback and SMS campaigns, shared by the brand's own app, website and branches. In a branch, the cashier scans the customer's code on a counter screen next to the till and keys in the discount it shows. Built-in integration with Ordrun Cloud is coming soon. Ask us for a demo.

Does Ordrun issue ETA e-receipts?

Not yet, and we won't promise a date. Today receipts show the tax breakdown, taxes are calculated by branch and order type and saved on every order, and that data is kept so e-receipts can be added later. If you're already required to issue e-receipts, factor that in, and ask any vendor, Foodics included, to confirm how they cover it.

Do both work without internet?

Foodics says its till keeps working offline and syncs later, and its kitchen screens pair with the cashier over the local network. Ordrun does too: the till sells and prints, and the kitchen receives orders over the branch network. Promo codes, delivery and branch handover, and online payments wait for the connection. Ordrun Lite runs entirely on the device anyway.

Can I move from Foodics to Ordrun?

Yes. Import your menu from an Excel file, categories and items in one sheet, or start from scratch. Our team can help with setup, moving your data and training, and you can run the free trial alongside your current system until you're sure.

I have one café. Do I need Foodics at all?

Not necessarily. For a café, kiosk or minimarket with one till, Ordrun Lite works without internet and is paid for once, from 3,000 EGP, with tables, open tabs, inventory and blind cash counts at shift close. Try it free for 30 days, no card needed.
