Supermarket and minimarket POS: barcodes, scales and credit, even offline
In market mode, Ordrun Lite sells straight from the scanner, reads scale barcodes and sells by the piece or the carton. With the Pro licence it also prices at retail or wholesale and runs tabs for regulars up to a limit you set. It runs on one device in your shop, keeps selling when the internet drops, and you pay once.
Scan, sell, next customer
The market screen is built for a scanner and keyboard. Scan an item and it's on the bill; no barcode, search by name or let Lite generate one. Every step has a key, so the queue keeps moving.
- F1 search, F2 quantity, F3 discount, F6 return, F8 to park a bill and serve the next person (F4 picks a customer, with Pro)
- Cash, card, Vodafone Cash, InstaPay, Fawry or credit (with Pro), split if needed. Card and wallet payments are recorded only, not linked to the bank's machine
- Arabic receipts on any ESC/POS thermal printer, 58 or 80 mm; the drawer opens only on cash sales
- Blind drawer count at shift close, with the difference against the cashier's name. Voids after printing and big discounts need a manager's PIN
Scale barcodes, pieces and cartons
If your scale prints barcode labels, Lite reads the weight or price from the code (prefix 2 by default, changeable in settings), so the label scans like any item. An item can come in several units, say a piece and a carton, each with its own barcode and price, while stock is counted in pieces. Selling wholesale? Give each unit a retail and a wholesale price, mark trade customers once, and prices switch when the cashier picks one. (Wholesale prices need Pro.)
Credit with limits, stock you can trust
With Pro, the regular who pays at month end gets an account with a credit limit, and Lite blocks any credit sale over it. Print a 90-day statement and take payments at the till; the ledger can't be edited. For stock, on every licence, receive goods against the supplier's invoice number and average cost updates on every purchase, so item profit is real. Count stock, record waste and set reorder levels.
- Low-stock and reorder report for supplier orders
- Dead stock tying up cash, and items below zero
- Item sales and profit by category, to Excel or PDF; customer balances with Pro
- Catalogue import from an Excel template (Pro)
Who it suits, and the hardware you need
Lite is made for one shop with one till: a minimarket, grocery, small supermarket, bakery counter or small retail shop. Each licence runs on one device, data stays encrypted on it, and devices don't sync. Several cashiers on one stock, or more than one branch? Talk to us first. You'll need:
- A Windows PC (Android and iPad: ask us first)
- A USB barcode scanner that types like a keyboard
- An ESC/POS thermal printer, 58 or 80 mm, with a cash drawer
- A label-printing scale if you sell by weight
Pricing and getting started
You pay for the licence once, from 3,000 EGP, and it's yours. Credit, wholesale prices, Excel import and barcode labels come with Pro; all prices are on the Ordrun Lite page. Yearly support at 4,000 EGP is optional and brings new versions and help by phone and WhatsApp. If it lapses, the app keeps working. To start:
- Create your account and get a free 30-day trial key, no card needed
- Download Lite from your account, choose market mode and add your items
- Sell as normal during the trial, then buy from your account; the same key keeps working

Frequently asked questions
Can I use Ordrun Lite in a supermarket with several tills?
Lite is built for one till. Each licence runs on one device and devices don't sync, so every till would keep its own stock and sales. For several tills on one stock, or several branches, talk to us before you buy.
Will my barcode scanner work with it?
Yes, if it's a USB scanner that types like a keyboard. Lite doesn't scan with a camera. Items without a barcode can get one from the app, and Pro prints them on labels.
Can I sell cheese, produce and bread by weight?
Yes, with scale barcodes. The scale prints a label with the weight or price in the code, and Lite prices the item when it's scanned. There's no cable link to the scale; Lite reads its label.
How does credit work in this minimarket POS?
Each customer gets an account with a credit limit, and Lite blocks credit sales over it. Print a 90-day statement and take payments at the till. Customer credit comes with Pro.
Do I need internet in the shop?
No. Selling, printing, shifts and reports run on the device. The internet is only for activating the licence (our team can do it offline too) and for updates while support is active.
How much does this supermarket POS cost? Is there a monthly fee?
No monthly fee. The Basic licence is 3,000 EGP, paid once. Credit, wholesale prices, Excel import and barcode labels come with Pro; every licence price is on the Ordrun Lite page. Yearly support at 4,000 EGP is optional, and you can try it free for 30 days with no card.
Does it issue ETA e-receipts?
Not yet, and we won't promise a date. Today the receipt shows your tax number and the tax breakdown, and every invoice is stored with its number and taxes so the link can be added later. If your shop must already issue e-receipts, Lite doesn't cover that yet.
What happens after the trial, and when support runs out?
Your trial key becomes your licence when you buy; nothing new to enter. The licence never switches the till off: without support the app keeps working, and only new versions stop until you renew.
